Social media data API vs a management platform
A social media management platform helps you publish, schedule, and run an inbox. A social media data API gives software and AI read-only access to performance. MySoMeData is a read-only social media data API and MCP layer for AI. It connects social accounts to AI applications and software, providing structured historical performance data that can be analyzed, queried, and used to build products. They do different jobs.
What does each one do?
| Job | What fits |
|---|---|
| Publish, schedule, reply, manage the inbox | A social media management platform |
| Open a dashboard and see what happened | A management platform |
| Let AI and software work with what happened | A social media data API |
| Ask AI what changed in your performance | A read-only social media data API |
| Build a product on normalized history | A social media data API and MCP |
| Replace both with one login | Neither. Keep the manager if you still publish there |
Why the data layer does not manage the account
Read-only scopes are the point. Your AI can analyze reach, views, and outliers. It cannot post. A management platform such as one you already use for publishing remains the right place for that work. MySoMeData does not replace it.
How do you use them together?
Publish where you already publish. Connect the same accounts to MySoMeData when you want Claude, an agent, or your own app to read the results. You are not migrating the calendar. You are adding a data path.
