Social media data for n8n
You can use MySoMeData from n8n with a standard HTTP Request node. There is no native n8n app and no MySoMeData node to install. MySoMeData is a read-only social media data API and MCP layer for AI. It connects social accounts to AI applications and software, providing structured historical performance data that can be analyzed, queried, and used to build products.
How do I call the API from n8n?
Create an API key in MySoMeData. In n8n, add an HTTP Request node. Set the method to GET, the URL to a https://api.mysomedata.com/v1 route, and the Authorization header to Bearer plus the key. Accept JSON. Map the fields you need into the next node, such as a Slack message or a sheet.
What should the workflow ask for?
A weekly workflow usually wants the account summary for the last completed week or month, not a raw dump of every pin. Pass a platform filter when the workflow is about one network. Handle 401 as a bad key, 429 as a rate limit of 120 requests per minute, and 5xx as an upstream retry.
When is MCP the wrong tool here?
n8n is an HTTP client. MCP is for AI clients that call tools. Use the Social media data API in the workflow. Use the Social media MCP when a person is asking Claude. Both read the same social data.
