ChatGPT social media analytics
You can analyze social media in ChatGPT by giving a Custom GPT, or your own application, read-only access to your MySoMeData account. MySoMeData is a read-only social media data API and MCP layer for AI. It connects social accounts to AI applications and software, providing structured historical performance data that can be analyzed, queried, and used to build products. ChatGPT is the AI client. The API and MCP are how data moves. MySoMeData is not an OpenAI product and is not an official ChatGPT integration.
How do I make social media data available to ChatGPT?
Connect your social accounts in MySoMeData. Then choose how the assistant reaches that data. A Custom GPT can use one-click OAuth so you are not pasting an API key into the chat. Your own app can call the API with a Bearer key. An MCP client can call the same tools if that host speaks MCP. The assistant only sees accounts you connect.
What is the difference between the pieces?
| Piece | What it is |
|---|---|
| MySoMeData | The read-only social media data layer |
| API | HTTPS calls your code makes with a Bearer key |
| MCP | Tools an AI client calls against that same data |
| ChatGPT | The assistant you ask. It is not MySoMeData |
What can you ask?
Ask what changed this month, which stored posts are outliers, and how formats compare. Answers are only as specific as the connected platforms. TikTok can show whether views came from For You, Search, or Following. Pinterest answers should use impressions, saves, and outbound clicks, not Instagram reach.
What should the page not imply?
OpenAI does not operate this data layer. A Custom GPT is your configuration, pointed at your MySoMeData access. Disconnecting the social account or revoking the key stops new reads. The assistant still cannot publish, because the scopes are read-only.
